Charity quilts

My friend Cath at Wombat Quilts posted some great pictures of charity work I’ve done recently.  You can read her post here.  She takes great photographs.

I made the quilt  with challenge fabric from Portland Modern Quilt Guild plus some of my own.  I hope someone will enjoy looking at the happy colors and quilt designs.

This one was pieced by volunteers at the PMQG charity sew.  It was so gorgeous, I begged Cath to let me quilt it.

  1. My WORD, I had never even heard of Project Linus, but believe I will look it up. I am ALL for it. It troubled me, when I was teaching, that so many kids age out of fostering and have basically… nothing, so it’s a scramble for foster parents and community to come up with something for them to have a life with — because boom, that’s it, you’re eighteen and considered “adult” enough to have to find your own bedding, housing, etc. This lovely, personal touch – a handmade purple quilt! – in a home of a young person just makes me happy. Well done, you guys.
